WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Bring on 2025!

We've got major plans lined up, with each term brimming with exclusive elite training and personal development opportunities. However, it's important to understand that we're collaborating with industry professionals. In the entertainment industry, things move at lightning speed, and you could even get a confirmed gig call the day before. While we've provided dates in advance, please be aware that the schedule may change due to our engagements with industry professionals. Take a look at the details below. 👇

COMMUNICATION

Effective communication is key - in fact we're it's one of the things we value most here at BASE 181 STUDIOS. But we also know life is busy and it can be hard to keep on top of emails, text messages and social media posts. That's why we've made things super easy with ONE easy communication channel that you can access from anywhere.

Introducing our BAND app! BAND is where all of our communication about COMPANY will be housed. We try to eliminate cluttering your inbox with unnecessary emails so will post all information on the app. All parents and students are required to attend an onboarding session during the first week to ensure they can use the app efficiently and stay on track.

It is a requirement that when events are scheduled that you RSVP on the event in the given timeframe provided.

Frequently asked questions about The Company!

How do I access Band?

Getting set up with Band is super easy! Simply head to https://band.us/ on your laptop or search Band in your app store on your phone (look for the green tile with the B) to download the app.

We'll send you an invite to join our closed Company Band group. Just like all of our Base 181 Band pages, we take privacy very seriously so only people who are 'invited' can join our page.

Need the deets on important stuff?

We know life gets super busy so we want to make things as easy as possible for you! Plus we know how annoying it can be hunting through a crammed inbox or full Facebook feed to find the info you need!

We always 'pin' important notes right at the top of our Company Band page so you'll be able to track them down in a flash. You'll find all those important announcements and reminders pinned under the Notices section right at the top of the Company Band feed.

Where's the scoop on upcoming events?

You can get all the details about our upcoming events and performances by checking out the Events Calendar on the Company Band page. On your phone? Click the calendar icon at the bottom of the page. Visiting us from your laptop? Click Events tab right at the top of the page.

From here, simply click into an event to get all the info you need (think date/time/location) plus send us your RSVP (see FAQ below).

How far in advance will I know about performances?

We strive to provide dates well in advance, but as part of the dynamic entertainment industry, things can often move swiftly. This means that occasionally, we may need to provide only a week's notice for certain events or opportunities. When exciting chances arise that could significantly contribute to our students' growth, we are quick to seize them. Please understand that last-minute events may occur despite our best efforts to plan ahead. Your flexibility and understanding in such situations are truly appreciated.

How do I RSVP for a performance?

It's super important that all Company dancers RSVP for all performance events. This is so we know positions and students feel confident with any changes that might be needed.

You'll find all of our upcoming performances in the Events section of the Company Band page (see above for details). On our performance events, you'll find an RSVP button. Simply click and let us know if you'll be there!

Shows and Competitions, How does it work?

EOY Costume Requirement Notice:

Team Costumes for routines are priced at approximately $80 per costume. A detailed breakdown of all required costumes for the end-of-year performance will be provided prior. Payment for these outfits will be due in Week 1 of Term 3. If you are on Direct Debit, the costume fees will be automatically added to your debit that week.

Additional rehearsals: May be necessary, although we don't anticipate this occurring. However, in the unlikely event that it does, we wanted to inform you in advance there is potential for this to happen. Please note that any additional rehearsals beyond the standard schedule will incur an extra fee. These fees are not covered by your membership. Additional rehearsals will be charged at a rate of $23 per hour.

While our primary focus isn't on competitions, we embrace opportunities that strengthen our team dynamics. Should a compelling opportunity arise, we are fully committed to participating. Regarding fees, some competitions entail additional costs for participation. These fees are typically confirmed closer to the competition date, and we ensure parents are promptly informed about the details and payment procedures.

Costume Notice for Performance: For Company performances, the designated attire will be the Company Top and Company Shorts. This outfit will serve as the standard performance attire unless specified otherwise on your Band app.

Shoe Requirement Notice: All students are required to have White Airforce Nikes for their footwear. Any style is acceptable, but please ensure they are entirely white with no colour accents whatsoever. Here is a link for your convenience: CLICK HERE

Location Notice: For performances, please be aware that the designated meeting area will consistently be near the stage. While maps may occasionally be provided, they may not always be available. If no map is provided, seek out an organiser or event staff member who can direct you to the stage. In cases where there are multiple stages at the event, we will provide specific instructions on the Band app for your convenience. If event organisers designate a particular meeting spot, this information will be clearly outlined on the Band app under the respective event. Otherwise, the default meeting point is by the stage.

Parking Notice: Frequently, the events we perform at experience high attendance and limited parking availability. It is the responsibility of each individual to arrange parking prior to the event. We strongly advise allowing ample time to find parking and walk to the stage area. Please plan accordingly to avoid any delays.

Commitment and Attendance

Our Company are a team and as such it is very important that all team members are committed equally. Company students are required to meet all class requirements and uphold the values of being a Rep Team student at our studio. We understand that things happen in life, however we expect our Company Team students to not miss their classes lightly and only when very unwell. If you are planning a holiday that falls on one of the performances or shows please let us know at the beginning of the year so their teacher can make appropriate adjustments if/where required.

Additionally, Company and Rep Team students may not participate in another dance team or studio, as this poses a conflict of interest. Similar to sports, where athletes commit to one team, being part of Our Company requires the same dedication and focus.Thank you for your understanding and commitment to maintaining the integrity of our team!

Uniform and Team Attire

As representatives of Base 181 Studios Company Rep Team we expect that our Rep Team students uphold the full Base 181 Studios uniform values in every single lesson. Uniforms are distributed at the beginning of the year, with additional uniform items available for purchase throughout the year!

BOYS: How to style my Hair for Performances?

For male participants, hair should be kept neatly groomed and slicked back. If you have long hair, it should be tied up and away from your face. It's essential that no hair falls across the face, as this can detract from the stage presence and overall presentation.
