The years that make performers.

The teen years are where dancers decide what kind of performer they want to be.

Some want the stage with a full company behind them. Some want to sing as well as dance. Some live for the cypher.

At Base 181, there's an elite lane for each of them.

Every teen program trains with professional expectations: real commitment, real stages and coaches who know each dancer personally.

The
teams

The Company leads the teen level. The Artist Lab, Breaking Academy and Floor Messiahz give teens even more ways to train and perform.

Parent
questions

The short answers. Each program's page has the full details.

Which teen program is right for my dancer?

It depends on where they want to go. The Company is for future professionals in commercial dance. The Artist Lab is for performers who want to sing as well as dance. Breaking Academy and Floor Messiahz are for breakers. At tryouts, our directors will help place your dancer.

Can my dancer join more than one?

Yes. Company dancers can choose Breaking Academy as one of their electives, and Level 2 breakers train alongside Floor Messiahz every week. Chat with us about the best combination for your dancer.

How do we stay updated?

Everything happens in the Band app. Each team has its own private group, with notices pinned at the top and every performance in the Events calendar.

What's the commitment?

Weekly training and performances are a must in every teen program, so we ask dancers to miss only when they're unwell. If a holiday clashes with a performance, let us know at the start of the year.

Can we join another studio's team?

No. Rep dancers can't be on another studio's team, just like playing for one club in sport. Every family also backs our studio values and uniform standards.
